Hello Friends,
I just got back from the ASC in Columbus Ohio. I was an especially great year, I got to meet great photographers and athletes, made new contacts, worked with the best team (A big thank you to everyone at Grizzly Fitness). As you can see based on the pictures below, we had a great weekend!
I also reconnected with old friends and made new ones!
It was amazing...
It's highly motivating... I'm now ready and eager, for more!!!
I've decided to put on my competition heels again... hé oui, I couldn't stay away too long could I? ;)
Luckily, I'm not too far off and my off-season look is even better now than it's ever been....
Eric is still my trainer, and probably will be for life :p Those of you who know me/him, know we were made to train together :D
However, there is a change of plan in the food department, I've decided to enlist the help of another person regarding my diet/supplements program.
Mike Lemay will take care of that aspect of my prep. he is very knowledgeable and I do trust him a lot, which is a vital aspect when prepping.
I believe I'm surrounded by the best persons, we'll rock as a team... :p
I'll keep you posted on the developments and official dates!
Stay fit!
Josie

Good news -- The store is almost up!!
Well all know how expensive competitions are! Second-hand suits are a good way to save money.
For a minimal fee, we will help you sell you suit, make another competitor happy and help you buy a new one.

Or simply bring it to me at Monster or Progym, and we'll sell it for you!
We will feature it on the Site and in the Store and contact you if a buyer is interested and if we sell it.

:: First day of the Stratus Body Experiment!
So here it is! Carmela has decided that I look like Trish Stratus and that we should work out together in order for her to bring out my inner diva ;)
For those who do not know who Trish Stratus is, she was a WWF Diva for years, and also one of the first successful fitness model. Here she is:

I believe I have better legs ;) but yes, indeed, we have the same curvy look and not so thin waist that only dwarves can have. Carmela prepared a cardio program. I’ll be the queen of the threadmill :D
Here’s what she told me to do:
Warm-up
Speed 5 - 15 minutes
Speed 8 - 4 minutes
Speed 10 - 1 minute
Speed 3 - 2 minutes
Speed 8 - 4 minutes
Speed 10 - 1 minute
Speed 3 - 2 minutes
Speed 8 - 4 minutes
Speed 10 - 1 minute
Speed 3 - 2 minutes
Cool-Down
Speed 5 – 5 to 15 minutes
Total = 41 to 51 minutes
Heres what I really did:
Warm-up
Speed 5 - 15 minutes (at this point I thought it would be too easy and that we would need to up the speed the next time)
Speed 7.5 - 4 minutes (Speed 8 for the 1rst minute, 7.7 the 2nd, 7.5 the third and 7.4 the 4th)
Speed 9.5 - 1 minute (Speed 10 to 9.2 in the minute.)
Speed 3 - 2 minutes
Speed 7.5 - 4 minutes (Speed 8 for the 1rst minute, 7.7 the 2nd, 7.5 the third and 7.4 the 4th)
Speed 10 - 1 minute (Speed 10 to 9.2 in the minute.)
Speed 3 - 2 minutes
Speed 7.5 - 4 minutes (Speed 8 for the 1rst minute, 7.7 the 2nd, 7.5 the third and 7.4 the 4th)
Speed 10 - 1 minute (Speed 10 to 9.2 in the minute, the longest minute ever)
Speed 3 - 2 minutes
Cool-Down
Speed 5 – de 5 à 15 minutes (I jogged for another 5 minutes, but felt I had a blister on my foot... so I did another 10 minutes on the Stepmill instead!)
Total = 51 minutes
I was soaking wet!
Merci Carmie!

:: Having a balance
This week, I was asked if I could describe an advice that I would have liked to receive before starting a competition prep or going on stage.... I thought I'd share my answer
Having a positive social life is one of the most important factors in a person’s life. As competitors, it’s very easy to shut everyone out of our life and totally focus on bodybuilding and we end up burning ourselves out.
If your sport becomes all your life is, sooner or later, you will regret it. Having balance allows you to take more pleasure in bodybuilding and makes you look forward to each workout and yes, each diet.
Just don't let the rest of the world crumble around you during your quest for greatness
It’s important not to do too much or too little of anything. Too much of a good thing is just as bad ;)
Enjoy the journey and the process it takes to compete, but makes sure you still have a job to go to and family and friends loving you!
This is what I wish I had been told in the beginning!
